1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser so that it can recognise you on a later visit or remember a setting. Similar technologies, such as local storage, tracking pixels and browser fingerprinting, serve the same purpose. Dutch law requires consent for any cookie or similar technology that is not strictly necessary for the service you asked for.
2. Cookies on this website
www.databaseonline.nl sets no cookies of its own and does not use local storage. Specifically:
- No analytics. We do not use Google Analytics, Matomo or any other visitor statistics tool. We know how the website is used only from the aggregated server logs described in the privacy policy.
- No advertising or social media cookies. There are no advertising networks, no social media buttons and no embedded videos on this site.
- No functional cookies. The website has no login, no shopping basket and no settings to remember. Your theme (light or dark) follows your operating system setting and is not stored by us.
Because nothing is stored, no consent is required and we do not show a cookie banner.
3. No third-party requests
Loading a page sends requests only to our own hosting. The typefaces are served from this website, not from Google Fonts or another third party, so no other company sees your visit.
- The contact form. Sending the form opens your own e-mail program with a prepared message. Nothing is submitted to or stored on this website.
4. Other DatabaseOnline websites
Our product and service sites, such as sqltreeo.com, ssmsfolders.com, ssmsaddon.com, 24x7dba.nl, sqlserverspecialist.nl and office365mailsolutions.com, run on their own platforms and may use cookies, for example for a web shop, a licence portal or visitor statistics. Each of those sites has its own cookie statement and, where required, its own consent banner.
5. Managing cookies in your browser
Even though this site sets none, you can control cookies for all websites through your browser settings. Every major browser lets you view, block and delete cookies, and block third-party cookies entirely. Instructions are available from the browser vendors for Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge and Safari.
6. If this changes
If we ever add visitor statistics or other tools that store data in your browser, we will update this page first, list each cookie with its purpose and retention period, and ask for your consent before anything non-essential is placed.
7. Questions
Questions about cookies or privacy can be sent to danny.riebeek@databaseonline.nl.
