A word from the founder

When I started DatabaseOnline in 2001, the plan was simple: be the people a company can call when the database is the problem, and be reachable when it matters, which is rarely at ten in the morning. Twenty-five years later that is still the whole strategy.

We stayed specialised in Microsoft SQL Server because depth beats breadth when production is down. We added Genesys Cloud because our contact-centre customers had data they could not get at, and nobody else was combining the API side with the database side. We build tools like SQLTreeo because we needed them ourselves. And we monitor 24x7x365 because a promise to be there at night is not one you can hand to a ticket queue.

Which jobs run at the same time?

Agent schedules are set one job at a time, so backups, index maintenance and the nightly load end up in the same half hour without anyone noticing. SQLTreeo Job Timeline lays them over each other, also between servers.

Which job is slower than it used to be?

A fixed alert threshold says little. Every job is compared with its own history, so a four-minute job that suddenly takes twenty stands out and one that always takes two hours does not.

What happened last night?

Every run is a bead on a timeline: it stands where the run started, its shape says how it ended and its size how long it took. For a failed job you get the step that failed and its message, ready to paste into a ticket.
